Eighteen Wake Tech 学生 Selected as NCSU Goodnight Transfer Scholars
罗利,N.C. (May 23, 2022) – Eighteen Wake Tech students are among 51 Goodnight Transfer Class of 2025 Scholars selected at North Carolina 状态 University. The transfer class marks the most Wake Tech scholars selected in the program's history.
Recipients participated in a thorough selection process over the Spring semester, which included an application and an interview with a volunteer committee consisting of current and former N.C. 状态 faculty, staff and alumni, as well as industry representatives from SAS Institute. The prestigious Goodnight Scholarship is valued at $22,000 per year for up to three years ($66,000) for transfer students from North Carolina community colleges.
The following individuals are Wake Tech's Goodnight Transfer Scholars:
- Andrea Rosales Alvarado, plans to major in mathematics education
- Sam Ainley Zoll, plans to major in human biology
- Eh Taw Boe, plans to study animal science with a concentration in veterinary bioscience
- Aaron Dusenbury, plans to major in statistics and minor in computer programming
- Paul Grena, plans to major in mechanical engineering
- Duaa Jalal, plans to study chemical engineering
- Mona Khan, plans to major in nutrition science
- Jenna Kolbe, plans to study chemical engineering
- Jeffrey Lima, plans to double major in computer and electrical engineering
- Luis Medina, plans to study civil engineering
- Jessi Miller, plans to major in computer science
- Bradford Moran, plans to major in electrical engineering

The Wake Tech recipients demonstrated exceptional accomplishments during their community college career, including stellar academic achievement, memberships in national honor societies and involvement and leadership in student organizations and athletics. Wake Tech recipients include students with impressive accolades, including a principal dancer with the Carolina Ballet, a Scott Scholar – Wake Tech’s most prestigious and sought-after honor – and an undergraduate STEM research intern.
The Goodnight Scholars Program was established in 2008 by N.C. 状态 alumni Jim and Ann Goodnight to provide financial assistance to North Carolina students from low- and middle-income families who wish to pursue STEM education at N.C. 状态. In 2017, the scholarship expanded to include transfer students from North Carolina community colleges who planned to enroll at N.C. 状态 in the fall after receiving an associate degree. Now, the Goodnight Scholars Program is the largest full-time scholarship program at N.C. 状态, with 255 undergraduate students enrolled per year.
Since 2017, 37 Wake Tech students have been named Goodnight Transfer Scholars. The 51 recipients in the transfer class of 2025 is the largest cohort to date.
